The system is based on a generator that produces sodium hypochlorite from sodium chloride dissolved in sea water by electrolysis. The supply of sea water to a power cell consisting of a platinised titanium anode and a titanium cathode, to which the adequate electric current is communicated so that the electrolysis occurs. The said electric current is obtained from a rectifying unit included in each supply. These equipments are designed to be controlled from any, more or less sophisticated, measurement or control system, available in the market, in order to limit the chlorine concentration in the water produced with the adequate instruments. This device will stop the generator when the desired chlorine concentration is achieved. CHLOROMAR ® is used in order to disinfect and/ or to clean the sea water used to jet clean surfaces and industrial machinery and in order to prevent the incrustation of sea residues in the cooling pipes using salty water. A safe, convenient and low-maintenance system with all the advantages of chlorination as disinfection system but without the dangers stemming from the use of gas chlorine or the storage and manipulation of sodium hypochlorite.
